For the best performance from your vacuum, you want to ensure that you’re taking care of the filters. Your vacuums filters are what ensures that you don’t choke on a cloud of dust that escapes from the bag, after all. Pre-filters are important so that your primary filter can do its job more efficiently. It acts as a secretary, screening out larger bits so your filter can deal with the pollen and dust mites. Every two to three months, pop out this filter, rinse with cool water until clean, then air dry. Pop in the other one from the bag and you’re good to go until the next time.
