Who knew that you’d be looking up furnace filters and how to replace them and when you should be changing them. But, here you are. It’s part of being an adult, like learning how to clean out your gutters, or how to change the floaty valve in your toilet. It’s not something you think about usually, but you’re glad you know it when you need to. So here’s the rub: Forced air furnaces should have their filters inspected monthly and given a once over with a vacuum dusting brush if they’re filthy. They should also be completely swapped out every three months at the minimum. These filters have MERV 11 rating.
